Intimacy - a FLIP Fest Art Exhibition

  • Dr. Foster James Penny Building (map)

This exhibition, in conjunction with FLIP Fest. FLIP is a celebration of women, femme, and gender non-conforming artists. We aim to provide a safer, inclusive space for all.

The exhibition opening is from 5 PM - 7 PM on August 24th and the exhibition runs until September 14th.

Intimacy highlights the photographic work of Mahlet Cuff, whose practice focuses on reconstructing the ideas and stereotypes that are centered around women and their bodies. Specifically for black women, her series The Hair Diaries is an unapologetic look at self-love through hair. Themes of the body, self-love, and intimacy are prevalent throughout the exhibition, which features works from a diverse array of women, femme, and GNC artists.

For some of the artists, this is their first time having their work exhibited. We are honoured to be able to provide this exhibition opportunity for all artists involved. Thank you to our sponsors and the University of Lethbridge.

This exhibition is curated by Kylie Fineday.
